The National Center for Community Strategies offers technical assistance and addresses the diverse challenges that community leaders and stakeholders are confronted with on a daily basis. We enable community leaders and stakeholders to identify their challenges and enterprise systems, access industry best practices, and identify opportunities for improvement that are right for their community.
We identify pathways to build internal capacity, explore new concepts and programs, strengthen management processes, and when advantageous, build public-private partnerships.
Our expert technical support approach:
- Targets, tailored needs assessments to identify issues.
- Includes functional analysis of work units including an analysis of workflow, resource allocation, interdepartmental communications, and other factors to identify dysfunctional structures.
- Recommends changes needed to resolve managerial, functional, behavioral and interdepartmental issues.
- Includes counseling and skills training for managers and supervisors to enable them to deal effectively with the issues.
- Trains program design and presentation for supervisors in such areas as team building and interpersonal communication and other training courses for employees to prepare them to react appropriately to a changing environment.
- Evaluates program impact to measure improvement in areas where interventions or training have been conducted and to identify continuing needs.
