Bio:
Ric Murphy has been involved and provided subject expertise to many of our Nation’s most important programs and initiatives. He has unique experience with executive and program management, and large-scale government contracts/ projects, in excess of $1.5 billion annually. Mr. Murphy’s client portfolio includes contracts for Federal (civilian and military), state and local governments, non-government organizations (NGO), and community-based organizations (CBO). As a former Assistant Community Superintendent for the Boston Public Schools, he has worked tirelessly in addressing issues that intrinsically link poverty, employment, education, and child development. Mr. Murphy has worked on diverse client engagements from national and homeland security assignments nationally and internationally, to supporting community based groups addressing the psychosocial and environmental challenges that impact families and communities under stress, including in part public health, homelessness and unemployment.
Mr. Murphy was appointed the State Purchasing Agent for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Director of the Commonwealth’s Department of Procurement and General Services; he was appointed by Mayor David Dinkins and reappointed by Mayor Rudolph Giuliani for a total of three terms as Chairman of the New York City Procurement Policy Board; and he was appointed Director of the Department of Administrative Services for the District of Columbia. He understands the challenges and performance metrics confronted by Federal, state and local governments on a day-to-day basis, not from a theoretical point of view, but from practical applications needed to leverage models that work and to deploy teams and resources to make it happen, including business models for economic, business and community development.
Mr. Murphy was a Fellow at Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government; and he has a Masters in Urban Affairs from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Massachusetts. Mr. Murphy has served on numerous national, local and not-for-profit Boards of Directors, and on Advisory Boards to community based organizations.

Host Committee will provide:
- Projector, screen, table, extension cord, microphone, and a captivating audience.
